Thanks for your comments!
Sadly, student...Allison,
Thanks for your comments!

Sadly, students are not researching yet... I'm still working on the "inspiration" portion of Genous Hour! See my previous post regarding where we are this October - http://geniushour.blogspot.com/2012/10/genius-hour-explained.html - I think students are still programmed to do one thing, and not venture out beyond the box just yet. They are too content complying... We'll get there!

Oh, and we only have two computers in the room right now for two of my classes. However, one of my classes has 1-1 iPads. :-)Joy Kirrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08883167887036480979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2941630785664397334.post-70376349230389870242012-10-20T08:44:10.374-05:002012-10-20T08:44:10.374-05:00I love this disclaimer sign! It gets to the heart ...I love this disclaimer sign! It gets to the heart of what you are doing and why. I also like the idea of conferencing with students to discuss. It gives them the expectation to be listening and thinking while you are reading. Are students just researching while you conference? What resources do you have in the classroom for them to research while you conference? Do they have 1-1 computers?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02447760397149735716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2941630785664397334.post-39758780997485922592012-10-20T07:57:21.983-05:002012-10-20T07:57:21.983-05:00I love your sign. I still need to take pictures of the class w/o the seats all asunder.
I love the last note - I love messing with normal!! :-D
Big smiles here...Joy Kirrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08883167887036480979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2941630785664397334.post-87811709409200769812012-10-16T20:53:54.039-05:002012-10-16T20:53:54.039-05:00Oh, my how I laughed when I saw your pictures, Joy...Oh, my how I laughed when I saw your pictures, Joy! Hilarious! I loved what you wrote and shared about your class. However, I laughed even more because I can so relate to this in my classroom.

Perhaps, I will take some similar pictures on the sly. My room is like this, only the furniture is different. I could print out your disclaimer, as is, and hang it on my door too. It would help visitors make sense of my room. (Actually, I would like that. May I?)

Congratulations on your commitment to mess with normal!

Sincerely,
DeniseDenise Krebshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00583406241247334445noreply@blogger.com
